Conservation Status: Least Concern (LC)

Conservation Status ChartConservation Status: Least Concern

As the name suggests, a species of Least Concern is widespread and abundant. They don't meet any of the criteria to be considered threatened, and their populations are generally stable. This doesn't mean they're not important or that they can't be at risk in the future, but for now, they're not a primary focus of conservation efforts.

It's a positive sign for the health of a species. Humans are actually classified as a species of Least Concern.

Many common animals you see every day, like pigeons, raccoons, and squirrels, also fall into this category.
