Conservation Status: Vulnerable (VU)

Conservation Status ChartConservation Status: Vulnerable

A Vulnerable species is considered to be at high risk of extinction in the wild. This is a step down from Endangered, but it's still a serious warning. It means that without our help, the species could become Endangered or even Critically Endangered in the future.

Their populations may be declining, their geographic range is often limited, and they face threats from things like habitat loss or climate change.

The good news is that there's still a lot of time to act before the situation becomes critical. This status is a wake-up call, showing us which species need attention now to prevent future crises.

The African Lion is one example of a Vulnerable species, facing threats from human conflict and habitat loss.
